In Australia, the school year starts in late January or early February and ends in December. The year is divided into four parts, called terms. After each term, there is a two-week holiday. At the end of the year, students have a long summer holiday that lasts about six to eight weeks. There are also public holidays during the year, like Australia Day (26 January), Anzac Day (25 April), and the King’s Birthday (which depends on the state). The summer holiday is like the summer break in Europe.
